One of the funniest, most memorable movie wedding scenes ever...The Princess Bride is a classic!

As the boys get older - and they are more aware of things happening around them - we are having to have some candid discussions about some more mature topics. Last night Dylan overheard me and Jake talking about some friends who have separated and are headed for divorce. More to himself than to us, while he fiddled with his LEGO creation, he muttered "I am going to marry the right person so that I can stay married forever."

What, Dylan?

"I said that I am going to marry the right person so that I can stay married forever. I think that people get divorced because they married the wrong person."

That launched us into a discussion about there not being a right or a wrong person. Well, I suppose there can be a wrong person. But we stressed that even when you marry the right person, marriage still takes work. A lot of work. We talked about communication, being on the same page, communication, and always, always, always being on the same team...oh, and communication.

Dylan was quiet for a little while. Then asked for clarification: "So, when you and Daddy are yelling at each other - or 'discussing loudly' - you're actually making sure that you're going to stay married?"

That's exactly right. We're communicating. Loudly.
