Ukulele Club

The ukulele arrived. But after about five minutes with it, Dylan was very concerned: Nonna, I only have four lessons. I'm not going to be able to play any songs.

My mom relayed the story to me which translated to - you need to find him some local lessons after the four that we got for him.

So I hit the internet and discovered a local ukulele club. I called and spoke to a very nice gentleman.

My son just received a soprano and baritone ukulele and four lessons from my parents. I'm looking for some local lessons after that.

Well, my wife gives lessons...but only for beginners.

He's only going to have had FOUR lessons. He'll still be a beginner.

Oh, by then he'll know two or three chords. That's plenty for him to come play with us.

I was dumbfounded. The conversation continued...to the members of the group.

Most of us have been playing for two years. Most of the group are in their 60s. I myself am 80. My son sometimes plays with us; he's 50. But there are some teenagers that come sometimes.

My son is seven.

That's great!

So, in a couple of weekends, Dylan and I will be hitting the beach with our ukuleles...jamming with the geezer ukers. I printed their song book. Can't wait. I'm still going to look for lessons though.
